I love these tours. Thank you. Useless/interesting fact -the chairs and floorboards in the chapels are made from ships that were badly damaged from battle so they scraped the ships and reused the wood here.

Went to school in Greenwich, was fortunate enough to know all these places as a child, so much to see and do, when I was a child all these places were free not like that today x

Newgate Prison was a prison at the corner of Newgate Street and Old Bailey Street just inside the City of London, England, originally at the site of Newgate, a gate in the Roman London Wall. Built in the 12th century and demolished in 1904, the prison was extended and rebuilt many times, and remained in use for over 700 years, from 1188 to 1902.

Excellent video, dear Sinead , thank you. When I come to end of April to visit London , for a week, on the first day I will visit beautiful Greenwich and the Observatory, to see what that Prime Meridian looks like in reality .

I remember visiting the Cutty Sark as a child on a school trip. Probably back in the late 80s early 90s it looked different back then. Another wonderful tour Sinead, absolutely loved it! Xx

What wonderful video l went to Greenwich today but only did the quee house because of the rain after watching your video l feel you have shown me the bits that l missed thankyou for all the information 😊

I wish the video had been longer. From 1st of April it was £18 for the Cutty Sark and £18 for the Royal Observatory, combined ticket £27. A snippet of information. James Thornhill was the first British artist to be knighted. I have many more snippets (and a couple of corrections) but will keep quiet. 😊 I live about ten minutes by cycle from Greenwich.

Would've been nice to replace the music with commentary about the insides of the observatory.

Henry Vlll was not born in any if the buildings shown here. That palace disappeared in the late 1600’s by which time it was falling down.

Now, wha this tale o' truth shall read, Ilk man, and mother's son, tak heed; whene'er to drink, you are inclined, Or Cutty sharks run in your mind..... as our true bard once wrote.

I was dragged here for a STEPS ... concert ... Steps.
However, it is a beautiful venue with lots of gossipy staff from the Royal households.
